In yet another shocking incident, a 6-year-old minor has been allegedly raped at Dhupguri under Khetri police station near Guwahati.

The minor was raped by a 35-year-old man who was known to the family. The accused, Pulak Deka, was arrested while he was trying to flee the area this morning.

Deka raped the girl when she was alone at his house. The victim’s mother had left the girl with Deka as she went to see a doctor with the wife of the accused.

The state has been rocked by a number of rape incidents in the last two weeks, the most brutal of them being the heinous rape and murder of a minor in Nagaon.
