The roadside vendors of Fancy Bazar, the oldest commercial area of Guwahati, protested the recent eviction order given by the authorities concerned against them.
It may be mentioned that the order came in the wake of the public allegations that the makeshift stalls have been regularly leading to traffic logjam in Fancy Bazar area, and the traders have been asked to shift to another locality.
The vendors today took to the streets raising slogans against the move.
