Condemnations have poured in slamming the Tripura chief minister for his alleged sexist remarks.

On the lastest controversy sparked off by Chief Minister Biplab Deb, while asked by Northeast Live he said that his intentions were only to motivate the women involved in the marketing sector of the handloom industry of the state explaining to them the nuances of marketing, and that he had no intention to hurt anyone’s sentiments.

Meanwhile, 1997 Miss world Diana Hayden while reacting to the recent controversial remark made by the Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb that Diana was chosen purely for business reasons by ‘international fashion mafia”, said that it was unbecoming of somebody like Biplab to make such a comment. While saying that she is proud of her brown skin she also said that though she has no objection to criticism, remarks made on the basis of skin colour are unacceptable.
