At least 15 passengers were injured after a bus heading to Imphal from Churachandpur met with an accident near Moirang town of Bishnupur district.
The bus skidded off and turned turtle while negotiating to give road-space for another passenger vehicle that was approaching from the opposite direction.
Eyewitness suggests that in a way to create safe passage for the vehicle and due to in-completion of road-widening works triggered the accident.
All the injured including women and children were immediately rushed to the Moirang Community Health Centre by local villagers.
Evacuation task was later assisted by a team of police from Moirang police station. Reportedly, no passenger has sustained serious injuries during the accident.
Meanwhile, Moirang police station has registered a case regarding the accident.
