Arunachal’s Tawang has been adjudged the cleanest district in India’s northeastern states by Swachh Survekshan Gramin Survey 2018.
The survey, which was conducted by an independent agency engaged by the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in August this year, covered as many 698 districts of the country.
Reportedly, the evaluation process was based on direct observation of sanitation in public places, citizen feedback and service level progress on sanitation in accordance with the parameters of Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin.
In this regard, Pema Tsering, the chairman of Operation Clean Drive also congratulated on the occasion.
