In a massive operation against drug menace in Manipur, the Assam Rifles on Monday seized a massive quantity of WIY tablets.
Based on specific inputs, a team of Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles recovered the highly-addictive WIY tablets from a vehicle at the bordering town of Kudenthabi in Tengnoupal District of Manipur.
The vehicle was travelling from Moreh to Imphal and the tablets were found hidden inside the doors and body of the vehicle.
A total of 4 lakh 86 thousand tablets have been recovered, which would fetch around Rs 14.58 crore in the local market.
The contraband was being transported by two persons identified as Angam Jonathan and Jhamtinsei Touthang.
