The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya was sworn-in as Governor of Manipur on Thursday at Raj Bhavan in Imphal.

He took charge as the acting Governor in the absence of Najma Heptulla, who is leaving for United States to spend time with her children.

President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Governor PB Acharya to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur in addition to his own duties with effect from today.

Before leaving, Najma Heptulla wished the people of Manipur a Happy Monsoon. Meanwhile, P.B. Acharya has been the Governor of Nagaland since July 2014, while Najma Heptulla was appointed as the Governor of Manipur in August 2016.
