In a major crackdown on non-performing officials and alleged charges of misappropriation of funds, the Special investigation team on Thursday arrested Junior Engineer of the PWD Kabak Bath in connection with the multi-crore Trans-Arunachal Highway scam.
According to Special investigation team sources, Bath was arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into the scam involved in the disbursement of compensation for the construction of the 157.7-km Bopi-Potin road of Arunachal Pradesh.
The arrest was made after the investigation of the money trail pointed to the role of Kabak Bath in the case. Bath was arrested at the Itanagar police station after he was questioned about the money trail and he could not give answers.
Kabak Bath was arrested in connection with FIR No 2/19 of the SIC police station case, under Sections 409, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC, read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
