Another gruesome incident of mob lynching has come to light from Tripura. A youth from Nowarampara village in Dhalai district was beaten to death by angry local villagers on suspicion of being cattle lifter.
The villagers reportedly gathered together, tied up the youth, and beat him mercilessly till he lay unconscious. He was seen begging for water before succumbing to his injuries.
Following this incident, the police and the Border Security Force sent him to Gandachara subdivision hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Officer-in-Charge of Raishyabari PS Suleman Reang stated that a case was filed by the family members of the deceased and probe into the matter is underway. No arrests has been made so far.
