Suspicious death of a minor girl student has sent shock waves in Canchipur area of Imphal West on Thursday.

The girl’s body was found hanging from the frame of a double bunk bed inside the hostel of a school, located in the area.

School authorities and police have restricted entry inside the school campus as the condition leading to the death was allegedly found to be suspicious.

Parents of the deceased said that they had dropped the girl back to the hostel last Sunday after a short school break.

A team of police from Singjamei police station and forensic science officials have investigated the hostel room and later shifted the body to RIMS Hospital for further autopsy
