The Assam police’s cyber cell in Charaideo arrested two persons for trying to extort a local businessman in the name of the ULFA-Independent.
Soon after receiving the complaint from the affected businessman on Friday, the police swung into action and within a span of 12 hours Bitupan Baruah an ex-ULFA (I) cadre and Arup Chetia was arrested.
The duo was arrested shortly after midnight. Three mobile handsets recovered from their possession.
