Armed miscreants set on fire at least ten houses at Makhan Khunou in Manipur’s Senapati district in the wee hours of Monday. At least two persons have been seriously injured

Armed miscreants set on fire at least ten houses at Makhan Khunou in Manipur’s Senapati district in the wee hours of Monday.

At least two persons have been seriously injured in the incident. Land dispute is said to have been the cause of the attack. The locals have blocked vehicular movement along NH-2 of the Imphal-Dimapur road.

According to locals, the miscreants are suspected to be from the nearby Northern Maram village. The miscreants assaulted a woman and also tried to set on fire a man, who escaped with serious burn injuries.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has denounced the incident. Singh informed that additional troops have been rushed to the spot.
