Embattled BJP leader and Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh returned to Imphal this evening armed with the party high command’s backing to continue in the hot seat for the time being.
According to top BJP sources, the compromise formula that has been worked out is to bring about an immediate Cabinet reshuffle to accommodate party MLAs with differing points of view into the Biren Singh Cabinet.
Senior BJP leaders are expected to be in Imphal in the next few days as observers to sort out the differences between at least two lobbies that have emerged within the BJP legislature party in the state.
Meanwhile, senior cabinet minister Th Biswajit, who is being projected as their leader by the lobby,, continues to be off camera and maintain silence on the matter.
