Assam: Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates ‘smart fencing’ in Dhubri

In a move to enhance border surveillance, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated the BOLD-QIT or the Border Electronically Dominated QRT Interception Technique under the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management
In a move to enhance border surveillance, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated the BOLD-QIT or the Border Electronically Dominated QRT Interception Technique under the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System programme on India-Bangladesh border in Dhubri district of Assam on Tuesday.
The electronic surveillance project for border monitoring has been built using similar technology used by Israel to guard its borders. The smart fencing has been made operational in the 61 km riverine section of the international border in Dhubri where the Brahmaputra enters Bangladesh.
Briefing the media after the inauguration Rajnath Singh said complete sealing of the India Bangladesh border will take some time.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal was also present during the ianuguration.
The Home Minister will also take stock of the border relations between India and Bangladesh during his visit.
