In a big breakthrough, the Assam Police on Saturday has arrested one more person in connection with Wednesday’s grenade attack in Guwahati carried out by the ULFA-Independent.

The arrested person identified as Chinmoy Laskar is currently in the custody of Latasil Police. This is the fifth arrest in the grenade attack case so far with two more persons arrested in the last 12 hours.

Another ULFA-I linkman identified as Indramohan Bora was arrested in Nagaon on Friday and is currently undergoing rigorous interrogation.

It is worth mentioning, police officials have confirmed the involvement of Bora in the blast. High rank police officials have stated that Bora has links with ULFA-I leadership and provided logistical aid to carry out the blast.

Moreover, it is also learnt that Bora did a recce of the blast site few days back. In this regard, police have seized crucial documents, mobile phones and a motorbike from Bora’s possession. Bora will be handed over to the Guwahati police by the Nagaon branch.
