Sensation prevails at Bordumsa in Eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district following the recovery of charred body of a 19-year-old married woman identified as Priyanka Chetia Moran.
Although Priyanka’s husband Madhu Moran has claimed that she had committed suicide, the locals claim it to be a murder. It is alleged that Priyanka’s husband Madhu Moran and his mother killed her under the influence of contraband substance.
Meanwhile, the police have taken into custody Madhu Moran and his mother for questioning. The charred body of Priyanka has also been sent for autopsy.
Angry locals laid siege at the Bordumsa police station and demanded justice for the victim’s family. Agitated mob also pelted stones and damaged a vehicle at the police station premises.
Meanwhile, senior police officials had rushed to the spot to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order.
