Chakat Aboh, the wife of slain Arunachal NPP MLA Tirong Aboh has filed her nomination papers as an independent candidate for the Khonsa West by-polls on October 21.
Aboh is the first candidate to file nomination for the by-polls necessitated by the killing of her husband and sitting legislator Tirong Aboh in May.
Political parties in the frontier state have joined hands and selected Chakat Aboh, wife of slain West Khonsa MLA Tirong Aboh, as the common candidate for the upcoming by-election to the seat.

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Pema Khandu had convened an all party meeting this morning following which the decision was taken to support Chakat Aboh as an independent candidate for the October 21 by-poll.
By-election to the seat was necessitated after Tirong Aboh and 10 others including his son were shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Bogapani on May 21, before the announcement of the results on May 23 for the 2019 assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.
